Welcome to Pearl Seekers
For the reasons that follow we have turned off the Bulletin Board and hopefully we will turn it on again once we have clarified our future direction. This could happen by about mid year 2007.
The Pearl Seekers Team with the help of some members has recently been reviewing the Pearl Seekers’ Project. Our initial approach was simply to invite the sharing of ideas on a range of issues. We now believe that this process did not lead to a deeper sense of the mystery at the heart of reality. We need a new approach.
We have also observed that there are now a very large number of groups and websites dedicated to almost any topic one could think of, for example, Climate Change, Justice, Spirituality, Workplaces and so on. There is no need to reinvent the wheel by duplicating such groups and websites.
In addition to the above reasons for turning off the Bulletin Board, at the time of writing these words we have had several postings from outside sources that were not consistent with our vision and values. Some examples related to fellatio and upskirting. Realising that sexuality is an important aspect of life we hope to provide a forum for the healthy integration of sexuality and spirituality.
Considering the various approaches we tried during the year, we feel that the future of Pearl Seekers’ Project may be based on a new way of sharing experiences and a new way of knowing. Hopefully this will lead to a deeper sense of the mystery at the heart of reality.
Participants will be invited to reflect on selected evocative input from a range of materials: nature, a poem, a season, and so on. It is planned to renew the input each month. Those taking part will be encouraged to find time for silence and contemplation before contributing to a Face to Face Group or posting to the Bulletin Board at Sharing in Online Conversations - Forums.
